The Entrance Rams

The Entrance Rugby Club was a foundation club of the Central Coast Rugby Union competition, both established in 1975. From its inception, the Rams were a competitive force across all grades, with their first-grade side reaching Grand Finals in 1979, 1980, and 2003, and claiming the premiership in 1980.

Over the years, the club celebrated numerous successes, including multiple CCRU Premierships:

  • Premier 1 (Sid Noble Shield): 1980

  • Premier 2 (Myer Shield): 1976, 1977, 1985

  • President’s Cup (Lawrie and Betty Mitchell Shield): 1984, 2002 (Joint Premiers)

  • U19s: 2006, 2007

In the late 1990s, dedicated members of The Entrance Rams proudly constructed the top level clubhouse at our long time home, Sir Joseph Banks Oval in Bateau Bay. Built by the hands of volunteers, the clubhouse stood proudly on the halfway line as a symbol of the club’s spirit, commitment and community pride — a place where players, families and supporters gathered to celebrate countless matches, milestones and memories.

The Rams’ spirit lives on through the Rams Relics, a team of former players who participate in annual social matches in the Golden Oldies competition, keeping the camaraderie and love of the game alive.

The Bay Vikings

The Bay Vikings

In recent years, the club has evolved into The Bay Rugby Club, reflecting its strong connection to the broader coastal community.

In 2020, the club entered a new chapter, rebranding as The Bay Rugby Club while continuing to honour the proud foundations laid by those who came before us. Our junior teams now compete as The Bay Vikings, continuing the club’s commitment to growing the game and developing future generations of players.

That commitment was proudly recognised in 2024, when The Bay Vikings Under 12's claimed the Premiership, a milestone that highlights the strength of the club’s junior development pathway and the bright future ahead.
